RULES OF THE RIVER FOR RENTERS |
Personal Flotation Devices (PFD's or lifevests) must be worn, ZIPPED UP, while in your kayak.
Footwear (watershoes, sandals or sneakers) must be worn at all times.
Please carry your cell phone in a waterproof bag.
Renters may paddle from Foundry Cove to Pollipel Island (we will give you a map).
Stay close to the shore (the view is better anyway).
Renters may NOT cross the river or paddle near the shipping lane.
Renters may not paddle South of Foundry Cove.
Renters may paddle into Constitution Marsh 2 hours before high tide and paddle out 1 - 2 hours after high tide.
Renters may NOT paddle under the railroad tressle on the South side of Constitution Marsh.
Landing on Bannerman's Island without permission is against the law.
We will help you check currents, tides, weather and wind forecasts.
If by chance, thunderstorms arise, paddle to shore, get out of your kayak, and call us. We will come get you.
Kids under age 16 may paddle a single kayak with a certified guide or instructor from Hudson Valley Outfitters.
Kids under age 18 may not rent without an adult present with them on the water.
